Was HLN's Jane Velez-Mitchell Cloned From Nancy Grace?
Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 9:03PM | Leedog Tuning into HLN a little early one evening I discovered a wannabe clone of Nancy Grace who is going by
the name of Jane Velez-Mitchell. In the short period of time I watched her show, I wondered how in the hell does anybody understand what she is talking about? Attempting to listen to her while she spoke made me completely dizzy. The woman rambles on so quickly her words all roll into one big blur and I had no clue what she had just said. At least with Nancy, she knows how to get down to the point without excessive rambling. If you would just let your guests finish their sentence this could vastly improve your show.
My reference to her being a clone of Nancy Grace comes from her emulated Nancy style, as well as trying to be as aggressive as Nancy. The difference in the two of them is the that Nancy Grace can be aggressive, but you can follow Nancy's show and understand the point she is trying to make even though at times her point is often surrounded by rudeness. The problem with Jane's show is it reminds me of Hollywood Squares. At one point there were 6 square boxes on the tv. screen, Jane in one box and her guest's in the others, all speaking at the same time concerning the topic at hand. Also, if that wasn't bad enough, she was also taking calls from viewers at the the same time which resulted in her not having enough time for any of them. So she just stated that she didn't mean to cut them off... but did and then just continued spewing out her own opinion. It appeared to me she lost control of her show....WTF!! Why does she even bother to have anyone on the show but herself? Jane and her producers seem to be on the wrong track.
Jane wake up and smell the coffee, but don't drink it...you are hyper enough as it is! As a clone of Nancy Grace... you have failed! Sorry, but there is only one Queen of HLN...which is Nancy. For your show to succeed, you need to develope a style that isn't comparable to someone that is running an auction. Slow down when you talk!! With Joy Baher coming to HLN your competition will only get stronger. After watching Jane I can appreciate the style of Nancy and how she hosts her show. Nancy may be domineering, but at least she's coherent enough to understand how to get to the root of the discussion. In my opinion, you need to allow your guests to speak, you need to allow your callers to speak.... you need to SHUT UP!!

I agree. Why does she have to screamed every other word. I stopped watching hewr, That is a trash T,V, Station anyway---like the trash Magazine.

If Michael Jackson and his family were White and the kids were black and Debbie were black----Would there be a uproar from the Al Sharps of the world demanding that the kids know their bLACK rOOTS? tHINK nOT. These kids are white-----they should know where they come from and know their mother.

Jane is not quite as rude as Nancy Grace, but sure is running a close second; volume-wise, she takes first place over Nancy.
Nancy Grace and Jane Velez-Mitchell are two of the most crass and most nausiating people on the planet. To watch their selfish behavior and crude antics on TV always makes me feel good about myself knowing that I am a far better person than they. It is difficult not to watch them simply because they are so bizarely wicked and downright mean. Seventy years ago...they both would have held a high office in the Nazi party. Go ahead and watch their "show", but anyone who buys their "books" should be ashamed of themselves.
Nancy is rude and that makes her ugly. Jane is definitely trying to sound like a "Just off the Presses" person and they say the same things so if you miss one show, the other will just repeat. I, too, have stopped watching. If you watch the first 3 minutes of the show, you will really have seen the whole show because they just keep repeating the same thing over and over ad nauseum. Then, to make it even more irritating, they make the music so loud it drowns out all the dialog. Maybe that's not so bad.
I can't stand Jane or Nancy. They are like leeches or parasites that make their living off of some peoples misfortune and other peoples inhuman behavior. I wish CNN would flag every link that features Nancy so I wouldn't have to bother closing the browser window as quickly as I can and I'm Jane does not show up on any channel I watch on tv as I will not get cable.
I AGREE, ALL OF HLN SHOWS ARE SO LOUD WITH THAT BACKGROUND MUSIC. I ALSO AGREE, THEY REPEAT THE SAME THING NOT ONLY IN THE SAME SHOW, BUT NIGHT AFTER NIGHT - LIKE PEOPLE ARE TOO STUPID TO REMEMBER. I ALSO THINK NANCY IS HORRIBLE. I'M SURPRISED SHE GETS ANY OF THE LAWYERS ON THE WAY SHE INSULTS THEM ALL THE TIME. SHE COMES OFF SO RELIGIOUS - I DON'T THINK SO.
SHOWBIZ TONIGHT AND THE ABOVE ARE ALL THE SAME. I DO ENJOY JOY BEHAR SHOW.
IF THEY CAN'T GET DIFFERENT THINGS TO TALK ABOUT ON EACH SHOW, THEY NEEDSTO STOP SOME OF THEM.
PRIME NEWS WITH MIKE IS THE BEST ONE.
I woundered; until I stopped watching; She is either on drugs or should be. She and that Grace character are dead space for CNN.
I like your show and Nancy, But I wish that you would do more on the Casey anthony's casey and Haleigh Cummings case. You both got to get of mike jackson and Slow Vern
case. That's all we hear about 7 days a week
I am so glad for this site. I just wondered how many other people think the both of them Nancy and Jane are complete obnioxious bitches. Damn HLN needs to fire both of them.
I would like to know what Jane and Nancy are pissed off about? Did someone steal their Captain Crunch? They both sound like raving maniacs. How would you like to be married to one of them??? Yikes that's a scary thought. Just give us the news without all the opinions and B.S. Now I see that Jane has a gavel. What's next a six shooter? That's how I see it!
OMG...I love this. Jane Valez Mitchell barks at the camera. Doesn't listen to what he guests say. She is too busy talking about herself and her own opinions. The other day she had woman who were there to talk about a missing friend. All she could talk about was the cats and dogs in the house. She totally never listened about what happened.
